Writing for Busy Readers Workshop

Date:

Wednesday, March 27, 2024, 3:00pm to 4:30pm

Location:

Harvard Kennedy School, Littauer Building, Trustman Room L-150, 1st Floor, 19 Eliot St., Cambridge

Todd Rogers, Weatherhead Professor of Public Policy, will teach how to write so busy people read, understand, and respond to our messages. Everyone is busy. That’s why we skim emails, texts, forms, documents, and nearly everything else. In this workshop you will learn the practical cognitive science of communication, and the six actionable principles it generates. In addition to increasing the effectiveness of our messages, these principles make our communications more equitable and kinder by being more respectful of busy readers’ time and attention. This highly interactive session ends with an actionable checklist for participants and their teams. Refreshments will be served.
