DESCRIPTION:<p>	The Office for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning (VPAL), and the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning are co-sponsoring an event that will aim to equip Harvard instructors with resources, frameworks, and approaches to facilitating charged conversations during and after election week.</p><p>	We hope you will join us in this interactive virtual event “<strong>Navigating Classroom Conversation in Tumultuous Times</strong>” on <strong>Monday, November 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. </strong>The agenda will consist of a 20-minute panel discussion followed by breakout sessions guided by each panelist to continue the discussion and engage in conversation with attendees. The event will end with a 15-minute debrief of key takeaways generated in each room.</p><p>	<strong>Panelists:</strong></p><ul>	<li>		Linda Chavers, Allston Burr Resident Dean, Winthrop House; Assistant Dean of Harvard College; Lecturer on African and African American Studies (FAS)	</li>	<li>		Meira Levinson, Professor of Education (HGSE)	</li>	<li>		Timothy Patrick McCarthy, Lecturer on Education (HGSE); Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy (HKS); Resident Scholar of Quincy House (FAS)	</li>	<li>		Rachel Viscomi, Assistant Clinical Professor of Law (HLS)	</li></ul><p>	<strong>Session Goals:</strong></p><ul>	<li>		Equip faculty and instructors with resources, frameworks, and approaches to facilitating charged conversations during election week	</li>	<li>		Build community and confidence to facilitate these conversations and reflect on ways to handle difficult moments that may arise	</li></ul><p>	All active instructors and teaching fellows at Harvard are invited to participate.
