SUMMARY:Overcoming Impostor Syndrome: A Workshop for Graduate Students with Dr. Valerie Young
DESCRIPTION:Impostor Syndrome can make it difficult for students to believe in their own success, convincing them that they just 'got lucky' in getting where they are. Feelings like this are incredibly common amongst high-achieving students. This workshop with Dr. Young, a leading expert on this issue, will explore with graduate students, and faculty interested in helping students with this issue, ways to combat impostor thoughts and become more confident in their placement at Harvard and overall success in graduate school and in future academic careers. The workshop will be followed by a reception, where students and faculty can discuss their experiences with other students over snacks and drinks. RSVP appreciatedOrganized by Minority Biomedical Students of Harvard (MBSH) and Harvard Graduate Women in Science and Engineering (HGWISE) along with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) and Division of Medical Sciences (DMS) Offices of Diversity and Minority Affairs
