Assistant Professor of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology
Harvard Medical School
Alan Brown did his PhD at the University of Cambridge with Prof. Sir Tom Blundell in X-ray crystallography. He subsequently completed a postdoctoral position with Prof. Matthew Higgins, also at the University of Cambridge, before moving to the MRC-LMB to work with the Nobel-laureate Venki Ramakrishnan. While at the MRC-LMB he published some of the first near-atomic resolution structures by cryo-EM. He started his own research lab at Harvard Medical School in September 2017 to study the structural basis of molecular transport.
